Ohio Statehood Day at the Ohio Statehouse, March 5, is an opportunity for advocates of the history field to share our story with the Ohio General Assembly.
Join Megan Wood, Executive Director & CEO of the Ohio History Connection, and Kevin Boehner, Director of Government Relations, to discuss this year's talking points and get some tips on how to best share the message with legislators.

Kevin Boehner has served as the Director of Government Relations for the Ohio History Connection since 2022. Prior to joining the Ohio History Connection, he worked in the Ohio House of Representatives for almost four years and then as the Director of Small Business and Workforce Policy at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce for almost five years. Kevin graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in History and has spent most of his professional career in the advocacy space.

Megan has been the CEO for a little over three years and with the organization for over 18 years. Most of her career has focused on education and learning in museums. Megan is an active member of the American Association for State and Local History and the American Alliance of Museums.

In a follow up to last December's webinar, Ohio Open Doors & Your Museum, we'll walk through the steps of developing and registering your Ohio Open Doors event. Andy Verhoff of the of the Ohio History Connection’s State Historic Preservation Office will outline a few event ideas, to get your creative juice flowing, and discuss the practicalities of planning and promoting your events using the Ohio Open Doors website (hint: it's easy).
