Wright State University Special Collections and Archives is seeking an Archives Assistant to support public services, archival processing, digitization, and outreach initiatives, helping ensure that our unique collections are accessible, preserved, and used by researchers, students, and the community.

Job Duties:
▪️ Assist researchers in locating and using archival materials and provide general reference support.
▪️Manage reading room operations, including scheduling, opening/closing, and equipment support.
▪️Perform basic archival processing, digitization, and metadata creation under guidance and supervision.
▪️Support outreach, exhibitions, class visits, and other engagement initiatives.
▪️Maintain proper handling, security, and care of rare and sensitive materials.

Minimum Qualifications
▪️Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in archives, libraries, special collections, or related fields (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
▪️Knowledge of archival principles, processing workflows, and digitization practices.
▪️Experience providing public services or reference support.
▪️Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and comfort handling rare or sensitive materials.
▪️Ability to learn archival and digital management systems.

Compensation: $19.82/hour
