[Ohiodig] indexing in PubMed and Medline - Help!

Hi everyone!

I've been tasked with getting a student peer-reviewed journal indexed in PubMED and medline that we manage in our digital collections.  I think they think it can be done quickly lol.  I've heard it isn't easy.

Anyway, I think I need to get an ISSN, DOI for articles, clean up the metadata, etc.  And as I'm going through and taking notes I thought about this group and am curious if any of you have a great workflow for any part of this process, if you have any suggestions or warnings, or maybe if you are up for a call to chat about it.  

If this is new to others, I'm happy to share what I learn if you are interested.  (Side note - I'm guessing this process shouldn't start until the government wakes up?)  Any help is greatly appreciated.
