Good morning Ohio Archivists!
I write to you on behalf of a project called Documenting Asian American History in Ohio (DAAHO)<https://daaho.lib.miamioh.edu/>, which is funded by a grant from the National Historical Publications & Records Commission of the National Archives. The Project aims to collect, preserve and promote knowledge about the experience of Asian American citizens and diasporic Asians in the nation's heartland. In making visible what was previously invisible in American history, our project also aims to create sustainable models for integrating the experiences of minority populations into the mainstream historical narrative.
As part of this project, we are conducting a survey of relevant collections--such as historical papers and other keepsakes--held at libraries, museums, and other repositories, as well as by community and/or non-profit organizations in the state of Ohio. In order to gain a better understanding of the scope and range of such collections, we have created a brief online form, which we are now circulating and requesting organizations like yours to complete.
Would you please consider sharing information about any of your related materials in this important and brief and simple online questionnaire: https://bit.ly/DAAHO-Survey? Your contributions are much appreciated, and essential in helping us build a more complete record of the many critical yet disparate--and often hidden--documents that tell our shared history.
Thank you for your time and consideration. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding this survey --or about our project, more generally, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Christine Engels
