Hello DPLA Network Partners,

It was great to hear such helpful ideas and questions from many of you during last month's Digital Curation Member Meet-Up!

DPLA is now seeking members for the new Digital Curation Taskforce. The Digital Curation Task Force is charged with developing a model for network hubs using DPLA Local to curate educational and exhibition resources for users of their resources. The group will work with DPLA staff to ensure the curation resources can meet the needs of network hubs in these areas. Time Commitment
The task force will begin its work developing a six-month work plan focused on DPLA Local, users, and implementers in January in consultation with the DPLA Tech Team. Meetings will be held monthly or bimonthly not to exceed 90 minutes.

Member Selection Criteria
Task force members will have expertise or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  *   Online exhibit curation
  *   Developing educational materials using primary sources
  *   Developing curriculum in line with educational standards in the areas of social studies, history, English, critical thinking, and literature
  *   Public history
  *   Genealogy
  *   Experience working with materials pertinent to minoritized communities
To apply, please send a short statement of interest detailing your experience and qualifications for the task force, and affiliation with a DPLA Hub or community of curation practice to Shaneé Yvette Willis, Director of Community Engagement (shanee at dp.la<mailto:shanee at dp.la>).
Statements of interest are due by Monday, December 19. The task force will convene its first meeting in mid-January with the support of DPLA's Directors of Technology and Community Engagement.
