[Ohiodig] Software as a service database systems

Dear collective wisdom,

I’m in search of recommendations for software that can host and share databases online.

Requirements:

  *   Easy to use—no one has time for any significant development
  *   Allows uploading data in bulk via CSV or a similar method
  *   Has searching and filtering capabilities
  *   The database must be sharable with the public (no sign in required)
Backstory: The library and archives (my department) currently has a website that is separate from the museum’s main website. As part of a major website overhaul, our two sites are going to be combined. However, the new website will not have the capability to host one of our databases, which is currently in Drupal, and our digital/technology team will not have time to build us a new system prior to the launch of the new website. I’m doing my due diligence to see if there is anything acceptable on the market that we could purchase and get up and running relatively quickly. If I can’t find a suitable product, I will need to advocate to have the current Drupal database maintained, which would be a heavy lift for a variety of reasons.

The database is essentially three tables and isn’t super complicated, but it is largeish, there are over 46,000 lines in one of the tables. In case anyone wants to check it out, here it is in its current form: https://library.clevelandart.org/may-show. It isn’t fabulous, but it mostly works 😊
