Health Professions Librarian Job Summary
Supports students and faculty in the College of Health Professions, comprising nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, health sciences, public health, exercise sciences, community health, and social work. Provides library instruction, reference service and specialized research support. Develops and manages assigned collections. Provides outreach and partners with faculty to support teaching and research. Contributes to library decision making; serves on teams to carry out library goals as specified in assignments. Keeps up-to-date in librarianship and information technology, applying current information technologies in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Engages in scholarly, professional, and service activities. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications
ALA-accredited master’s degree (or master’s degree in library and information studies accredited or recognized by the appropriate national body of another country).
Preferred Qualifications
Significant academic preparation/coursework in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, health sciences, public health, exercise sciences, community health, or social work, OR professional experience in one or more of those fields. Professional experience in a health sciences library or equivalent organization. Work experience in an academic library.

Library Patron Support and Resource Sharing Assistant
Works collaboratively with the public services team to provide frontline services and assist patrons at the User Services desk in support of student learning and faculty teaching and research. Contributes to the daily operations of the library by delivering positive customer service in person, over the phone, and via email; performing all duties associated with the circulation of library materials; providing general information about the library or campus, and answering basic information queries; referring patrons to appropriate services, resources, or library staff. Supports research and academics by retrieving and processing materials for resource sharing services (interlibrary loan and OhioLINK). Performs related duties as assigned. Includes some evening and weekend shifts.

Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent. Six months verifiable paid work experience in a customer service-oriented position.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a library processing materials, interacting with library patrons, and verifying library records and forms. Experience using integrated library systems and applications for circulation functions; experience using interlibrary loan system (Tipasa, ILLiad, OCLC Article Exchange, etc.).
