The Columbus Metropolitan Library has an opening for a full-time librarian in the Local History & Genealogy division. The librarian is responsible for providing specialized training and programming functions, collection analysis, Readers’ Advisory and in-depth reference services. This position provides training and guidance to other Public Services staff including the use of electronic resources and reference tools. This position plays a key role in ensuring quality for digital collections and archives processing work, reviewing metadata, creating finding aids and working with paraprofessional staff.
The Local History & Genealogy division leads local history & genealogy services across CML. We work with branches and Main library to document Columbus history and serve as a reference resource for the community, answering all incoming phone, email and in-person reference requests related to LH&G and working with community groups to promote history and genealogy in Central Ohio.
