Hey Marsha --




You can also take the photograph by leaning away from the portrait with the camera to cancel the glare on the glass. The resulting photograph image will be skewed this way, but it can be straightened in Photoshop. I've had success doing it that way many times. Good luck!

Anyone have recommendations for the below situation?

Portrait photograph in a frame behind glass and the consensus is that it will be destroyed if it is removed. The frame measures 23" x 26". So far we have been unable to figure out how to digitize this portrait, due to the size and the glare from the glass. Are you aware of any way to successfully digitize an image of this size in a situation like this?

Marsha,

I would recommend a copy stand with copy lights equipped with polarizing 
filters. This will minimize or remove the glare on your photograph. An 
additional polarizing filter on the camera lens may also help.
