<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">The MDPN was funded by IMLS to demonstrate a replicable model for a collaborative distributed digital preservation network using the</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#906DDD"><a href="https://www.lockss.org/about/software" title="https://www.lockss.org/about/software"><span style="color:#906DDD"> LOCKSS
2.0 software</span></a></span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black"> and prioritizing easy-to-use workflows for non-technical users to help make digital preservation services accessible to cultural memory institutions
</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:#212121">that are financially or technically under-resourced or have limited staff or preservation knowledge. </span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">The Toolkit shares several reusable and adaptable resources across five focus areas - community formation, technical infrastructure, workflow development, governance,
and outreach and training - that the MDPN and its members developed during the grant period. This Toolkit is intended to help guide groups of collaborators seeking to build a new distributed digital preservation network or existing networks seeking guidance
in one or more of the focus areas. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
