Department of Special Collections (SC) within the University Libraries (UL) and is a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track appointment. The SC Department is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented individual to serve as Sound Archives Librarian in the
Music Library and Bill Schurk Sound Archives (MLBSSA). This position processes and describes archival collections in a variety of formats, assesses and migrates legacy formats, catalogs sound recordings and other archival materials, and provides outreach and
instructional services.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#4E4C4A;background:white">The Music Library and Bill Schurk Sound Archives (MLBSSA) is part of the Special Collections Department within the University Libraries. With more than one million items, the
MLBSSA is the largest collection of popular music in an academic library in North America. Recordings include 45s, 33s, 78s, CDs, reel-to-reel tapes, cassette tapes and other formats. The sound recording collection is supported by books, scores, video, periodicals,
fanzines, promotional materials and archival collections. The MLBSSA also provides materials in support of BGSU’s College of Musical Arts.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
