[Ohiodig] Orphan Film Symposium at Ohio State University April 8-11

Of possible interest: The 2026 Orphan Film Symposium will be held at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus next month. 42 presenters from around the world responding to the theme Conflict and Community over three days and four nights. The first evening is an all-Ohio program:
Wednesday, April 8
5pm for early arrivers: a free, pre-symposium, community screening:
Ashley Dequilla (Filipino American Historical Society of Chicago) presents 5 newly-preserved 16mm films by avid amateur Nicholas Viernes documenting Fil Am families and their communities from 1936 to 1955. These include home movie / documentaries made in Reynoldsburg, Ohio (a stone’s throw from Columbus).
7pm Reception & registration (1871 North High Street, @wexarts theater)
8pm Opening Screening: Welcome to Ohio
George Willeman (Library of Congress) Preserving the Film Series Ohio: The Buckeye State (1937-39)
