[Ohiodig] NOTSL 2026 Scholarship Application deadline: EXTENDED to 2/28

Due to the success of past virtual meetings, NOTSL is able to give away multiple scholarships again this year! As new educational and professional development opportunities may begin popping up in the new year, we are extending the deadline to February 28th, 2026. (Those who already submitted will be reviewed first.) The NOTSL scholarship is intended to support educational activities related to library technical services for applicants at any point in their careers or even degree program.

The NOTSL scholarship can be awarded up to $1500, and funds should be spent within one year from the date they are received. The proposed activity must relate to technical services (cataloging, serials, acquisitions, preservation, processing, or management of technical services). Examples of possible funded educational activities include workshop/conference attendance, costs associated with coursework/training, and professional meeting attendance.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be:

Working in an Ohio library in a professional, paraprofessional, or support position in technical services, OR
  *
A student currently taking coursework in librarianship (residing or studying in Ohio).

Requirements for the application include:

a short write-up (400 words maximum) on how the activity benefits the work or future career of the applicant
  *
Dates, full cost of the proposed activity, and the amount you are asking the NOTSL scholarship to cover
  *
A letter of recommendation from a supervisor, colleague, or academic advisor

After the educational activity is complete, scholarship winners will submit a brief summary of their activities, which will be posted on the NOTSL web page to share the experience with the NOTSL membership and encourage future scholarship applicants.

For applications received by the original deadline, December 31, 2025, applicants will receive notification no later than January 31, 2026.
