Topic:  FADGI for the Rest of Us: Accessible Image Quality Management

Description: This presentation from the cochairs of the OhioDIG Ohio Phase One Users Group<https://ohiodig.org/associated-groups/ohio-phase-one-users-group> (subgroup) will share low-cost, introductory approaches toward quality management in cultural heritage digitization. Whether you're working with flatbed scanners or camera-based systems, we'll break down key factors and technical principles associated with image quality.

(The Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative<https://www.digitizationguidelines.gov/> is known as FADGI, "a collaborative effort started in 2007 by federal agencies to articulate common sustainable practices and guidelines for digitized and born digital historical, archival and cultural content.")

Speakers:
Matt Carissimi. As the senior digitization specialist at Ohio State University Libraries, Matt oversees complex digitization projects, utilizing advanced equipment and software to capture, process, and deliver high-quality digital assets. In addition to his daily digitization work, he consults with partner libraries across the OSU system to ensure best practices align with the libraries' strategic goals and FADGI standards.
Erin Wilson, she/her. As the digital imaging specialist & project manager at Ohio University Libraries, Erin  oversees scanning operations and photography of archives and special collections materials. In addition to image production, Erin is involved with collaborative efforts to develop digital projects, describe and promote digitized content, and steward the Libraries' Digital Archives.
