The Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference is holding its spring 2026 conference in Richmond, VA. The conference will take place at the Omni Richmond Hotel from April 30 - May 2, 2026.



The Program Committee invites members to submit proposals related to the working theme Community and Resilience:  Archivists Band Together. In that 1) the members of the archival community feel as though it is facing new challenges and obstacles due to political and fiscal pressures, 2) that as archivist we continually need to support each other's education, professional development, and well-being, 3) that we, as a profession, attempt to support grass-roots efforts to preserve documentary evidence of communities large and small through community archiving projects and others.



The Program Committee encourages submissions from newer professionals and members of underrepresented groups. MARAC membership is not required. Presenters may submit more than one proposal, but may present only one session OR poster. Members of the Program Committee are not permitted to present.



Theme ideas to consider:

  *   How do we as a profession support grass- roots efforts to preserve evidence of communities large and small.
  *   Passing the baton: promoting continuity from one person to the next (especially in a time of constant change)
  *   Prevent old biases from getting brought back through new ways.

The deadline for proposals is October 2, 2025.
