The Centennial Library<https://www.cedarville.edu/academic-schools-and-departments/library> at Cedarville University seeks a Digital Services Director. This is a full-time, exempt staff position (2080 hours) reporting to the Dean of Library Services.
The Digital Services Director oversees the Centennial Library's Digital Services department, which is responsible for providing access to the scholarly and creative activity of the faculty, staff, and students of Cedarville University. The Director accomplishes this through managing the operations of the University's digital repository and delivering repository services in support of library and University needs. This position reports to the Dean of the Centennial Library.

Position Description:
The Digital Services Director ensures that appropriate technical processes are in place for managing the addition of both digital copies of physical materials and born-digital materials to the repository. The Director coordinates the part-time staff in Digital Services and ensures that efficient workflows are implemented and necessary tasks are carried out. This requires a thorough knowledge of digitization best practices, archival and repository standards, and our repository software platform, as well as familiarity with copyright, open access, and scholarly communication. The Director also oversees the repository platform and its integration with both the library's operations and website, so that users can access it quickly and effectively. The Digital Services Director also integrates repository services into other operations of the library and promotes the use of the repository across campus to meet specific departmental needs. Finally, the Director also coordinates the online publishing services offered through the repository platform. These include the publication of serials, monographs, and academic conferences.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in library or information science, technology/computer science, digital communication/media, data management/systems, or preservation/archival studies
Experience working with institutional repositories or archives, digital publishing/scholarly communication, academic libraries, or project management
