Announcing two upcoming webinars, Introduction to OHMS (March 6, 2025), OHMS & Transcripts<https://www.eventbrite.com/e/webinar-ohms-next-steps-february-2-2023-tickets-490780917937> (March 7, 2025). These online OHMS training sessions/workshops feature various aspects of OHMS (the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer), ranging from just getting started and beginning new indexing projects, to using the brand new transcript editor, and time-synchronizing new transcripts. OHMS provides a free solution for enhancing access to online oral history. The webinars are led by Dr. Doug Boyd, director of the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History at the University of Kentucky Libraries. Boyd envisioned, designed, and implemented OHMS.

Webinar participants will get an introduction to OHMS (Oral History Metadata Synchronizer) and its capabilities. They will learn the basics of getting started using OHMS, creating new records, synchronizing transcripts, indexing interviews, and installing and configuring the OHMS Viewer. Additionally, this webinar will explore the powerful integration of the OHMS Application into the Aviary platform and explore new and upcoming features. The webinar will provide a space for participants to discuss and ask questions.

OHMS & Transcripts is a webinar designed for those who want more in-depth practical training working with transcripts, transcription, the new transcript editor, and the implementation of the WebVTT standard in OHMS. Registrants will participate in a comprehensive training session on formatting and importing oral history transcripts, the exciting new transcript editor, and new approaches to transcript synchronization. The webinar will provide a space for workshop participants to discuss and to ask questions.
