[Ohiodig] flattening of plat maps

Good morning all,

We have recently entered into a partnership with the City of Toledo to digitize a collection of their plat map books from the 1880s and we are running into an issue. While most of the maps are scanning beautifully we have the occasional page that needs flattening. We do have a process and system for doing flattening with humidity that we use for our large architectural drawing collection but we are now hearing from some that things of this nature should not be flattened with humidity. Has anyone else dealt with this situation in the past and, if so, how did you handle the flattening? Any thoughts or advice are welcome. Attached are a couple of pictures to show you an example of what we are dealing with. Most are not this bad so far, but this will give you an idea.
