Fri Sep 20 14:22:15 EDT 2024

Last call to register for the Sept 30 meeting! We have 33 registered so far.

(If you can't remember if you registered, go ahead and register again as it's easy for me to delete duplicates!)

Register to join us in Northwest Ohio! Especially if you are IN Northwest Ohio, it's a great opportunity to gather with your peers. We haven't been in the NW since Bowling Green in 2018 (we had planned to come NW in 2020).

Topic: Collaborative Projects Between Archival Institutions and Libraries

Collaborative efforts between archival institutions can be invaluable for sharing ideas about organization, preservation, and promotion of materials. This meeting will cover the collaborations that have developed over the last few years between the host site Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, and the Seneca County Museum, Tiffin University's Pfeiffer Library, and Heidelberg University's Beeghly Library. In addition, Seneca County is celebrating its bicentennial<https://www.destinationsenecacounty.org/seneca-county-bicentennial> in 2024, so it's a great time to visit!

Speakers:

- Theresa Sullivan, director, Seneca County Museum. Sullivan will speak about the archival and digitization projects she is currently conducting at the museum. (Tour following the meeting!)

- James Gilmer, user services librarian, Pfeiffer Library, Tiffin University. Gilmer will present on Tiffin's ongoing collaboration with TSPL and touch on Tiffin's plans for preparing its archival collection for wider digitization on the new Alma Digital platform after the OhioLINK software migration in 2025. He will focus primarily on leveraging student workers to stretch librarian capacity and enhance access to the archives.

- Hannah Watson, student assistant, Beeghly Library, Heidelberg University. Watson spent the past couple of years making connections in the archival field and learning about archival techniques to better understand proper care of Heidelberg's archival material. She will share her experience, including the connection she made with the TSPL.

Host: Emily Rinaman, Tiffin-Seneca County Public Library.
