Digitization Intern Position at Ohio Humanities
Position description:
Ohio Humanities, the state-based partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, is hiring an
intern to assist in digitizing and cataloguing the organization’s archives. The intern will assist in all parts
of the project, including sorting through archived files to select documents to be digitized, scanning
those documents, creating the finding aid, and preparing the digital files for a public website. The intern
may also contribute to the design of the website.
Location:
The position will be based in our Columbus office. We expect the intern to work primarily on-site,
though there is the possibility of a hybrid schedule.
Compensation:
The selected candidate will receive $3,000 for 120 hours of labor. We will work with the intern to
establish a schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Sorting through archived files to select items eligible for digitization
• Scanning documents
• Optimizing digital files
• Creating a finding aid for scanned items
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in public history and/or archival digitization
