[Ohiodig] OpenCon Ohio 2023 - Call for Proposals and Registration

Dear Colleagues,


We would like to invite you to submit proposals<https://forms.gle/zUakW9j87Z5hRwzp8> for lightning talks and presentations for OpenCon Ohio 2023, the transformed OpenCon Cleveland from years past.


In keeping with the name change, OpenCon Ohio’s theme is the Transformative Power of Open Education. We’d love to hear how open educational practices are transforming teaching and learning on your campus. Topics could include open educational practices supporting equity, access, and creativity, course redesign with OER and/or open pedagogy, sharing of teaching practices, and open education advocacy and strategy. Other topics are welcome.

Proposals can take the form of:

  *   a 5 - 10 minute prerecorded lightning talk

  *   a 45-minute stand-alone interactive workshop

  *   a 45-minute panel discussion

This year’s conference will be completely virtual, and registration is free. OpenCon Ohio 2023 will be held the week of May 15th through May 19th. We’ll have online, asynchronous discussions earlier in the week (May 15th – May 18th). On Friday, May 19th, we’ll have live sessions via Zoom.

Decisions about accepted submissions will be communicated by April 19th, if not earlier. This year we are delighted to have Maha Bali, Ph.D. as our keynote speaker! She is a professor of practice at the Center for Learning and Teaching at the American University in Cairo.
