The Library Services Assistant (LSA) provides operational support (both public and technical services) in the University of Cincinnati Libraries, Science and Engineering Libraries unit.  The LSA primarily supports the unit's science libraries locations, Geology-Mathematics-Physics Library (GMP)<https://libraries.uc.edu/libraries/gmp.html> and Chemistry-Biology Library (Chem-Bio<https://libraries.uc.edu/libraries/chem-bio.html>). Responsibilities include staffing and overseeing the service desk at GMP and Chem-Bio during designated hours and providing operational support and assistance (e.g., technology support, reporting facility issues).  At GMP, supports library services and materials processing, including responding to user questions and requests, maintaining reserves collections, processing new library materials and daily mail, and preparing requests for binding and preservation.  Assists with the supervision of student assistants at GMP as needed for operational functions.  Oversees maintenance of library collections at GMP, including shelfreading and inventory, space planning and shifting, and the assignment of student assistant tasks and projects as related to collections.  Provides project support for library collections, including collections assessment and coordination with librarians for collection development efforts.  Assists with the processing of special collections located in the science libraries.
