Digitization 201
Digitization 201 continues CCAHA’s series of focused webinars that highlight specific topics related to digitization project planning and completion. These Digitization 201 webinars will tap into expertise at CCAHA in areas of conservation and fundraising, to be presented in a conversation format. Each webinar will be approximately 20-30 minutes and presented monthly through the end of the year (registration required). Sessions are recorded in order to be viewed as a series or according to specific subject relevant to you.

The Digitization 201 webinar series is a national education program of the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts provided with support from grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the William Penn Foundation.

Meet the Host
Maggie Downing, Manager of Digital Imaging, CCAHA

As Manager of Digital Imaging, Maggie Downing is responsible for assessing and tracking imaging projects at CCAHA. These include single document scans, the digitization of full books and special collections, and printed facsimiles of fragile materials. She meets with clients to evaluate digitizing options, provides estimates and proposals, and assists with image processing.

Maggie joined the staff in 2018 after working with the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Granger Collection historical image library in New York. She received a B.F.A. in Photography from New York University and an M.A. in Art History from the City College of New York.

The Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA) is a nonprofit conservation facility specializing in the treatment of works on paper, photographs, and books through conservation and state-of-the-art digital imaging services. Founded in 1977, CCAHA serves collecting institutions and private individuals. CCAHA’s preservation services staff present educational programs, conduct preservation assessments, and develop emergency preparedness plans. CCAHA also offers fellowships, fundraising support, and disaster assistance.
