Copyright legislation grants authors and inventors exclusive rights (for a limited period of time) to their creative outputs.  However, the law has also outlined exceptions in specified situations and for certain purposes.  In this webinar, attendees will learn about Section 108-the "Reproductions in Libraries and Archives" exception-which describes the ways in which these institutions can lawfully make copies for the purposes of preservation and access.  Attendees will learn about the history of this section of the law and discuss how it impacts many common library services and projects-from collection development, to interlibrary loan, to digitization projects.
